Bulk Explosives > ProductsANFO is a mixture of prilled, explosives grade ammonium nitrate and fuel oil. Bulk ANFO is manufactured at each customers mine site, and auger or pneumatically delivered directly into the boreholes. Low density, explosive grade prilled ammonium nitrate is sourced from Orica Canada Inc.’s world scale plant at Carseland, Alberta and is the principal component in bulk ANFO and represents the single largest ingredient used in the manufacture of explosives today.SuperAN™ is made on-site in a SuperAN™ truck by custom blending ANFO and a dense, high energy emulsion. Bulk SuperAN™ can be produced in many grades to suit mine conditions and is extremely energetic and more water resistant than ANFO. SuperAN™ provides higher density, bulk strength and velocity of detonation yielding better fragmentation, improved productivity and lower mining costs. MAGNAFRAC™ is a high energy, water resistant, pumpable emulsion explosive which is manufactured by BXL at several on-site plants and delivered into the blastholes using state-of-the-art delivery systems. Ammonium nitrate or ANFO can be blended with MAGNAFRAC™ to change the physical properties of pure MAGNAFRAC™ to better suit specific mine conditions.
